Who can be a member of the School Council?

We have an active School Council with children representing their fellow pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. Each councillor is elected by their classmates at the beginning of the school year after a short presentation explaining why they should be elected. The members then elect a Chair, an Assistant Chair, Treasurer and a Secretary.

What do we do?

Members of the School Council take part in discussions with the aim of improving the school for all who use it. They are also responsible for feeding back any relevant information to their fellow pupils. The School Council meets once a month or more if an event is being organised. There is a suggestion box placed in the school hall which is checked before each meeting.

Why is the School Council important?

We help to make the school a better place,” (Year 4)
Each time you raise money, you’ve bought something to help someone,” (Year 2)

Our School Council Mission Statement:
